Fishing at the Lido
Fishing is permitted at the Lido from 16 June to 14 March. You will need an Environment Agency rod licence as it is required to fish the lake. Fishing rules apply.
It is only permitted from the designated wooden fishing platforms.
It is not permitted to fish from:
the dog beach
outside the Waters Edge pub
the main beach
from the bird feeding platform
All anglers must have a National Rod Licence. Licences are checked on a regular basis and all fishermen are advised to ensure they have their licence with them; failure to produce a valid licence means they will not be able to fish the water.
The fish content in the Lido consists of large shoals of Bream, Perch, approximately 20 carp and average size pike. There is no fishing for pike during the summer season. The pike fishing season commences 1st October every year.
Fishermen are not allowed BBQs or fires on the banks and no boats must be used. No fishing is allowed from the beach or from the area between the pub and the boathouse (where most of the wild life congregate).
For the full rules and regulations relating to fishing, please study the notice board situated on the boathouse.
